What does Imani ask Jamal to do?

  • Wait until she is done
  • Put the cap back on the glue stickCorrect answer
  • Get more glue from the teacher
  • Help her finish her picture

Why “Put the cap back on the glue stick” is correct

Imani says two things in one turn: she hands over the glue, then asks for something. The request starts with 'Please', which is a useful word to teach children to listen for. Replay Imani's line and ask what comes after 'Please'.

Why the other answers are wrong

  • Wait until she is done — Imani says she is already done, so Jamal does not have to wait.
  • Get more glue from the teacher — Nobody mentions the teacher or needing more glue.
  • Help her finish her picture — Imani does not mention a picture or ask for help with her own work.
