Terms of use
ELPAC Practice Test is free practice for students, families, and teachers. These terms explain, in plain language, what you can expect from the site and what we ask in return. By using the site, you agree to them.

Using the site
Everything on the site is free, and there is nothing to sign up for. You may use it for your own study, to help your child practice, or to teach a class.
Please do not:
- copy the site's questions, audio, or guides in bulk, or with automated tools;
- send automated traffic that slows the site down for students;
- try to get around the daily limits on practice feedback;
- use the site to break the law or to harm anyone.
Younger students should use the site with a parent, guardian, or teacher. How the site handles information is explained in the privacy policy.
This is not the official test
ELPAC Practice Test is independent. It is not run by, connected to, or endorsed by the California Department of Education, and its questions are original practice material, not real test questions. Results on this site are not official scores and do not predict a student's official ELPAC result, placement, or reclassification. For anything about an official score or test date, ask the student's school or district.
Practice feedback
Feedback on writing and speaking is produced automatically. It is a study aid: it can miss things or get things wrong, and it is not how the official test is scored. Feedback on speaking reads only the automatic transcript, so it cannot judge pronunciation and can be thrown off by misheard words. Use it as a starting point, alongside the sample responses and rubrics.
Feedback has daily limits so it stays free for everyone, and it may sometimes be unavailable. Write or say answers to the practice prompt only, and do not include a full name, address, or other personal details.
Our content
The questions, answer explanations, guides, audio, and images on this site were made for it and are protected by copyright. Teachers may show them in class and print them for their own students. Please do not republish them on another site, sell them, or use them to build another product without written permission.
ELPAC and the names of other tests and organizations belong to their owners and are used here only to describe what the practice is for.
No guarantees
We work to keep the practice accurate and the site running, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees. Tasks, scoring rules, and dates for the official test can change, and the site may not reflect a change straight away. The site may also be unavailable at times, and features may change or be removed.
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its content or feedback, including lost practice progress, which is saved only in your browser.
Links to other websites are there for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they contain.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
