Leo: I want to build with blocks.
Zara: Good idea. I will get the block bin. You can clear the rug.
The question
Choose the best answer.
What will Zara do?
- Go outside to play
- Clear the rug
- Look out the window
- Get the block binCorrect answer
Why “Get the block bin” is correct
Two jobs are handed out in a single sentence at the end, and the child has to keep track of which name goes with which job. This kind of split instruction is common in classroom talk and is a genuine listening demand, not a trick. Replay the last line and have the child say each name aloud with its job: Zara gets the bin, Leo clears the rug.
Why the other answers are wrong
- Go outside to play — Leo says at the start that rain is keeping them inside, so nobody goes out.
- Clear the rug — Clearing the rug is the job Zara gives to Leo, not the one she takes herself.
- Look out the window — The rain is mentioned, but neither child says anything about looking out of a window.
